_ebecca Hardin noticed that her daughter Josie was extra-excited this particular Christmas.
When she took the 5-year-old to Walmart and gave her $5 to get a toy, Rebecca was touched when her daughter chose a baby Jesus figurine
_Baby Jesus was small, it fit in her little hand and looked to be very fragile. But it’s her money and she was so excited to get the first piece for her collection.
_The next day, Josie’s school let out at around noon. When Rebecca picked her up, Josie ran straight for the baby Jesus that she had left in the booster seat and held it close. Then she asked her mama where Santa was. She insisted that she had to see Saint Nick right away.
_Josie gave Santa a gift today… Today, Josie’s school let out at noon and they did not have after school care. So I picked Josie up at noon. She had left her Baby Jesus in her booster seat and immediately picked it up and held it close to her
_The other children were jumping around and talking excitedly about what Santa was bringing to them. Their parents were talking over them, yelling at them, or completely ignoring the kids. And here was Josie, in her Santa pajamas, quietly standing in front of me and cradling her little Baby Jesus
_Josie began to sing to Santa. She sang, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” and Santa patted her back in unison with the beat and he smiled and listened intently. Then Santa sang to Josie! He sang, “Silent Night,” and had such a beautiful voice! Josie hugged Santa then walked to me.
_It was a private moment that I am sure blessed that man as much as it blessed me. He was tired and sore. We have no idea if he was Santa because he needed money or if he just loved making kids happy. We don’t know if he has family or if he’s alone. And we don’t have to, because I do know that he got a blessing
